Replace Missing Teeth With a Dental Bridge
Dental bridges are comprised of two crowns that “bridge the gap” over one or more missing teeth. The replacement tooth on the bridge, called a pontic, can be made from several materials including porcelain and gold.
What is the Process for a Dental Bridge?
The outside teeth that support the bridge, called retainers, are reduced in size – cut down to be able to support and make room for the dental bridge. Then we take a bite impression, so we can create the mold for your bridge. The impression is then sent to the lab to be fabricated. You’ll have a provisional bridge to cover and protect the teeth for approximately 2 weeks. During the final visit, the bridge is cemented to your teeth for a permanent upgrade to your smile.
Cost of Dental Bridges
Wondering how much a dental bridge costs? This depends on the type of bridge, material used and your insurance. Insurance will typically pay a percentage of the fee – check your plan or call us with any questions you may have.
