Why You Should Consider Teeth Whitening Before Your Wedding

Teeth Whitening For Weddings

Not so happy with the color of your teeth?  You can try over the counter whitening toothpastes (which work as a gentle abrasive to remove stains from your teeth) and whitening strips. For the most dramatic and long lasting results, Dr. Judy Huey’s office offers Zoom White Speed, which is a light-activated teeth whitening treatment done in one office visit.  Zoom White Speed is clinically proven to whiten your teeth up to 8 shades lighter in 45 minutes. We also provide custom whitening trays to help you keep your smile bright after the ZOOM treatment.

When To Get Your Teeth Whitening Before Your Wedding?

We recommend that you have your teeth professionally cleaned in our office prior to the Zoom teeth whitening procedure two weeks prior to your wedding date.  If you have sensitive teeth, we recommend using a desensitizing toothpaste such as Sensodyne several weeks before the whitening treatment.

Avoid staining your teeth

After the ZOOM whitening, avoid food and drinks that can cause staining.  This includes red wine, cola, coffee, tea, beets, blueberries, tomato sauce, etc.  You can utilize a straw while drinking these beverages to prevent staining.  Still craving spaghetti?  Try using the Zoom whitening pen (also offered in our office) to apply to teeth after eating.  The Zoom pen helps prevent the stain from adhering to your teeth and is as easy to apply as lip gloss.

Don’t Forget

Don’t forget to add these items to your smile care kit on the wedding day:

  • Toothbrush
  • Floss
  • Chapstick – all that smiling dries the lips
