Who Doesn’t Want Whiter Teeth?

Teeth Whitening is a very common cosmetic dental procedure and is one of the most requested services from our office. While there are an abundance of whitening products you can buy over-the-counter, your smile will be better served with professional tooth whitening services. Your teeth will look brighter and whiter, and that great smile will definitely last longer.

There are so many products available that it can be confusing as to what would work best for you.  Here are the whitening options that we offer at Judy Huey DDS, PC.

WHITENING WITH ZOOM WHITE SPEED

The quickest, easiest way to effectively whiten your teeth is in-office treatment with Philips ZOOM WhiteSpeed – a light-activated whitening system.   Zoom WhiteSpeed is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to eight shades in 45 minutes.  This is the only in-office system that has a variable intensity setting so that each treatment can be customized to maximize your comfort.

Desensitizers are used to help minimize sensitivity and protect your enamel. Even our most sensitive patients do well using ZOOM Relief ACP during and after the procedure to relieve any sensitivity. You can have a brighter, whiter smile in just one office visit (90 minutes total).  To maintain your fabulous new smile, we include whitening trays for you to use at home to touch up as needed.

Philips Zoom DayWhite At-Home Whitening

For those patients with whitening trays, touching up your smile with the DayWhite gel for 1-2 weeks for 15-30 minutes is a nice way to keep your smile bright.

OPALESCENCE GO

Opalescence Go are prefilled disposable whitening trays that give patients the flexibility to whiten anytime anywhere.  They offer patients a convenient and  affordable professional-strength teeth whitening.  The 15% hydrogen peroxide concentration only requires a wear time of 15-20 minutes.  Potassium nitrate and fluoride helps reduce sensitivity.  Most patients who have been unable to whiten in the past due to sensitivity do well with Opalescence trays.  Opalescence Go teeth whitening gel is vegan—no animal products are used. It is also certified gluten free and certified kosher.

CAUSES OF TOOTH DISCOLORATION

Your teeth may have lost their natural color due to time and age, genetics, poor oral hygiene, excessive smoking or eating or drinking coffee, tea, red wine, blueberries etc… If you desire whiter teeth, be aware that the results from teeth whitening don’t last forever.   Modifying your diet, drinking stain -inducing beverages through a straw and touching up with whitening products will ensure your bright white smile will last for years to come.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR TEETH WHITENING?

If you have crowns or a lot of fillings on your front teeth, you may not be a candidate for teeth whitening unless you’re willing to have them replaced.  All whitening peroxides whiten natural tooth enamel but don’t whiten porcelain or composite resin (tooth colored) fillings.  Please let us know if you’re interested in finding out if you’re a candidate for teeth whitening.
